Variation:

This recipe can be made in 11-inch round tart pans with the removable bottom. You can use 2 overlapping sheets of the phyllo each layer for ten layers.

  • Brush the layer of phyllo with the mixture of butter, then add the filling
  • Next, trim the phyllo to have a 2-inch overhang; and fold the dough
  • Bake for about 40 to 45 minutes until it is set and looks golden brown
