In the rush to lose weight, many people bypass the most important part of the process: research. When it comes to your health you can never be too careful, especially since it's easy to be ensnared by advertising and marketing. As you'll see in our review below, even diet supplements that are sold at reputable places aren't always as safe as they may appear to be, so read on and learn what we found out about this popular supplement.

If you're looking for a weight loss pill that can actually work, try this list of the Top 10 best.

LipoRush Overview

LipoRush (LipoRush DS2) is a weight loss pill designed to help you burn more fat faster. It's mainly plant-based, and is formulated to be a “strong” dosage. Users are told to take one pill daily with a meal and with water. Each bottle comes with 60 capsules, meaning a single bottle should last the average user for two months. The company says that these pills should be taken while undergoing a diet and exercise regimen, and so are not intended to give results when taken alone. It costs around $75.

LipoRush is made by NDS Nutrition, a brand under the bigger company FitLife Brands, Ltd. This is a nutritional supplement company based in Nebraska. While the company has a slick presentation, not all is well with them. In 2015, they were sued by the Environmental Research Center after being accused of having illegal levels of lead in their products. This is very disturbing, as lead can cause serious health effects.

LipoRush Claims

LipoRush is a “super concentrated” diet pill that's supposed to increase your energy output and give you better focus. It's also supposed to act as a “thermogenic” – that is, it's supposed to increase your metabolism so that your body burns more calories than it would otherwise. Users who take these pills are supposed to see a reduction in their appetite, which can help with keeping them on a diet, and to act as a diuretic for cutting water weight.

LipoRush Ingredients

There are lots of ingredients in this product. We've listed some of the main ones here:

  • Caffeine anhydrous
  • Lotus extract
  • Yohimbe
  • Chinese licorice
  • L-Carnitine
  • Ashwagandha
  • Rhodiola
  • Theobromine

Caffeine is a stimulant that can give you more energy and endurance, although it can also cause some side effects like insomnia and jitteriness. Lotus extract is a traditional herbal remedy used in traditional Chinese medicine for digestive issues, but there's “not enough information” to say whether it's got any medical benefits at all (WebMD). L-Carnitine is an amino acid that can help increase athletic ability by increasing energy levels (Examine.com).

Yohimbe is a potentially dangerous extract from the yohimbe tree. While it's used as a natural stimulant, it can cause side effects including heart problems, liver failure, and heart failure – and on top of that, there's no proof that it has any benefits (WebMD).

The Science Behind LipoRush

Some of LipoRush's ingredients can help increase the amount of energy you have, especially the l-carnitine and caffeine. Theobromine works as a diuretic, which can help you shed excess water weight. Some of the other ingredients don't really have much medical use however, like the lotus extract.

Yohimbe doesn't seem to have any real measurable effect other than to increase your heart rate, and it certainly doesn't have any trials showing that it can burn fat or increase your metabolic output. On top of that, it's toxic to people and has caused numerous health problems.

Word on the Street About LipoRush

There aren't a lot of reviews out there for LipoRush. We found some on GNC, where the reception was not wholly positive.

Some people said that it helped them, that they “lost weight and got more focused” and that “it curbs the appetite something fierce.” Others said it “makes you need to work out because of all the energy.

Others said they're “never using this product again” because “it made them anxious and depressed.” Another customer said it “made me sick” and another said they've “gained weight” while on it.

These are the most highly-rated weight loss pills, based on expert critic reviews.

Is LipoRush Worth Trying?

We're not fans of this product. For one, the company is in legal trouble because of lead found in their product, which isn't good at all and speaks to a failure on the company's behalf to maintain product purity. There's also the problem of some of the ingredients – not all of them have solid science behind them, and at least one of them (yohimbe) comes with toxic and dangerous side effects.

If there were overwhelmingly good reviews for this product, that might be something worth considering, but there are very few reviews for it, and the customer reaction overall wasn't overwhelmingly positive.

We would say to avoid this product and try one that's better – and cheaper.

LipoRush vs Hydroxycut

These products are very similar. Both are pill supplements that are supposed to make you lose weight through supporting your body's natural processes. Both contain caffeine as a stimulant, and both are intended to be used alongside a diet and exercise regiment, not just through taking the pill alone. Hydroxycut is available in more places, it seems, and it's also cheaper – $20-$35 per bottle, compared to LipoRush's price of nearly $75. LipoRush contains the notorious ingredient yohimbe, while Hydroxycut doesn't.

LipoRush vs Lipo 6

These products are both supposed to support the burning of fat in the body. LipoRush claims to burn fat by increasing your metabolism, while Lipo 6 is supposed to “absorb” somehow – how, exactly, isn't very clear. Both products contain yohimbe, and so both are regarded as potentially dangeorus. Lipo 6 contains synephrine, a vasoconstrictor that comes with its own potential side effects. Lipo 6 appears to be discontinued, and it's difficult to say where it can be purchased.

LipoRush vs OxyELITE Pro

These products are both supposed to be able to help you burn extra weight as a part of a diet and exercise regimen. Both contain plant-based ingredients, and like LipoRush, OxyELITE Pro contains yohimbe. OxyELITE Pro also contains dimethylemylamine, once used as a way to increase athletic endurance but is now banned in some countries, and is illegal to sell without a prescription. The prices for both products appear to be about the same.
