Customers looking for diet products have to be especially careful. Ab Cuts Overview

Ab Cuts is a diet pill that's supposed to burn fat and promote lean muscle development. It comes in softgel form, and is supposed to be taken in the amount of 2 to 3 pills before every meal. That means that each day, customers are expected to take between 6-9 pills. Since each bottle contains 120 capsules, that means each bottle will only last from 14 to 20 days – not even a full month. And since each bottle costs around $40, you're looking at a lot of money to be spent on this product.

Ab Cuts is made by a company of the same name, but there's one major problem: we can't find any real business information for this company. We don't know where they're located, what their customer service history is, anything. What we do know is that they were the subject of a class-action lawsuit. What were they sued for? False advertising. The suit claimed that the product doesn't work and that it may not be safe. The case was suddenly dismissed by the plaintiff in 2014, which makes us wonder whether the company said or did something to cause the person to back off.

Ab Cuts Claims

Ab Cuts claims to be a pill that can specifically get rid of body fat in the abs, hips, butt, and thighs. The ingredients are supposed to be scientifically-shown to burn fat. They also say that they're easier to take than other pills, not only because they're in softgel form, but also because the product doesn't contain any stimulants like caffeine (which is what many diet pills do). Thus they claim the pills not only work, but also have no side effects.

Ab Cuts Ingredients

Ab Cuts has a decently-sized list of ingredients, all of which you can find below:

  • Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA)
  • Raspberry Ketone
  • L-Carnitine
  • Coleus Forskohlii
  • Borage Oil
  • Flaxseed Oil
  • Fish Oil
  • Sesame Seed Oil
  • Vitamin E

The ingredient CLA is one we've seen before, one that's supposed to be effective at reducing weight and reducing hunger levels, but the science is lukewarm: it's “possibly effective” at reducing body fat, and then only specifically in “obese” adults (WebMD). L-carnitine is an amino acid that can give you energy, which is good for working out.

Coleus Forskohlii is a plant extract that's supposed to lower blood pressure, but there's “insufficient evidence” that it can affect obesity (WebMD).

The Science Behind Ab Cuts

The main ingredient is the CLA, which the company claims has shown that it can reduce body fat in individuals. However, as we've seen, there's only a little bit of evidence and it only has been shown to work in obese individuals, so people who have a regular BMI and are trying to get toned are not promised any results. The forskolin in the product is also intended to lower body fat levels, but according to WebMD there's little evidence for that, too.

Word on the Street About Ab Cuts

Ab Cuts doesn't have a spotless record with customers, though there are those who like it. Some customers report that they like the fact that there's “no caffeine, no jitters” when using it, and that “it works, when you also do diet and exercise.

Other customers weren't so happy with it. They said that “it doesn't even work” and that it “makes me nauseous.” We saw other reports saying that “it's way too expensive and doesn't work,” “it tastes awful,” and “shows no effects, even after weeks of taking.

These are the most lauded natural weight loss pills that we've ever seen.

Is Ab Cuts Worth Trying?

This isn't the most compelling product we've reviewed. First off, there's almost no information about the company that makes it – no Better Business Bureau profile, no accounts with other business directories, and no official website aside from the product site – which should make anyone think twice about buying from them. Secondly, all of the ingredients in the product either show little evidence that they work (CLA) or no evidence that they work (forskolin). That, and customers don't all seem to think it works – which is important, since customer reviews are the only way to get an idea if something works or not.

Finally, the product is just too expensive. $40 for a bottle that won't even last you a month? We'll pass.

Ab Cuts vs Hydroxycut

These products are both supposed to help you lose weight when you follow a diet and exercise plan. They both claim to burn fat away and make you more healthy. Ab Cuts contains no stimulants, while Hydroxycut contains caffeine. Ab Cuts uses CLA as one of its main fat-burning ingredients, while Hydroxycut uses mainly extracts from fruits and plants. The company behind Ab Cuts is more mysterious, we should also mention.

Ab Cuts vs Super HD

These supplements are slightly different, in ways that will make them appeal to different people. Both are natural weight loss pills, but Ab Cuts contains no caffeine (which they're proud of) while Super HD does contain caffeine. Super HD says not to exceed three pills a day, while Ab Cuts says people should take their pills 6 to 9 times a day. Both products are expensive ($40 and $49.99, respectively), and both companies have been the subject a class-action lawsuits alleging false marketing for their products.

Ab Cuts vs Tonalin CLA

These products are very similar. Both are based on the supposed working mechanism of conjugated linoleic acid, a fatty acid that's supposed to accelerate weight loss. Ab Cuts contains more ingredients, however, while Tonalin contains pretty much only CLA. Both products are fairly easy to find, at vitamin and supplement shops like GNC, Walmart, and Rite Aid. Tonalin is cheaper than Ab Cuts, costing between $13 and $22, while Ab Cuts costs about $40.
