As a customer, you need to make sure you're not being taken advantage of. Unfortunately, because many people don't do their research, they end up paying too much money for inferior products, and much of that comes down to the fact that they didn't read up on what they were buying. We undertook the task of checking out one of these products to see if it was all the company said it was. Read on to learn what we found.

Fastin Overview

Fastin is a pill intended to help you lose body fat. It's supposed to be a “pharmaceutical-grade” alternative to other diet pills that promises results where others can't. It comes in bottles of 60 tablets. It's intended to be taken twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. It costs $69.95 per bottle, but there are discounts when you order more than one at a time.

Fastin is made by a company called Low Cost Leaders, Inc, a company based in Scottsdale, AZ. We looked around for information about this company, but we were unable to find any information about them beyond their address. There's no Better Business Bureau profile, no Bloomberg profile, and no company website. This is a little unnerving, since it means we have no record of their customer service history and no way of knowing if they're legit and professional or not.

Here are our picks for the Top 10 best diet pills on the market.

Fastin Claims

This product is supposed to suppress the appetite, making people have less of a desire to eat. The resulting decrease in caloric intake is supposed to lead to weight loss. It also increases metabolism, and is supposed to increase the output of the hormones norepineprine and dopamine, which is supposed to lead to additional weight loss. It's also supposed to give you more energy so that you can exercise more often.

We've assembled a list of the highest-rated diet pills of all.

Fastin Ingredients

This product contains several ingredients, listed below:

  • Phenylethylamine
  • Methylsynephrine
  • Theobromine
  • Dimethylamine
  • Synephrine
  • N-Methyl-B-Phenylethylamine
  • Yohimbine

The main ingredient in these pills is phenylethylamine, a stimulant that is supposed to increase the metabolism and improve the mood, as well as suppress the appetite. Methylsynephrine is another stimulant, but one that's been banned by the FDA because it doesn't qualify as a nutritional supplement and is similar to ephedra, another banned ingredient. Dimethylamine is a compound that is sold as a stimulant but is also banned by the FDA, and can cause an array of heart problems.

Yohimbine is a chemical derived from yohimbe, but be warned: this ingredient can cause irregular heartbeat, liver failure, and heart failure.

The Science Behind Fastin

This product seems mainly to work as a stimulant and appetite suppressant, due to the number of stimulants in the formula. However, there's no real observable benefit to some of the ingredients, and phenylethylamine is mostly metabolized in the small intestine, meaning it's not likely to have much effect on the brain unless in significant quantities. Other ingredients like dimethylamine and methylsynephrine are illegal in the United States.

Yohimbine is a potentially dangerous chemical, banned by several European countries and Canada. It's supposedly able to increase blood flow and energy, but there's little science that supports its use (WebMD).

Word on the Street About Fastin

We only found one place with any reviews about Fastin. Many of them were “good” reviews, but there are so few reviews total (only 13) that it's impossible to make a judgment on what the quality of the product is. Some said that it worked, “I lost 14 pounds last month” while others said “as long as you drink water a lot you'll be find.

Others said that “it doesn't limit my appetite, and I haven't lost any weight.”

Here's our list of the best pills for weight loss.

Is Fastin Worth Trying?

This is not a safe product to take, and we don't say that lightly. These pills contain several banned substances, as well as another substance (yohimbe) that is banned in other countries for its toxic effects on the body. Keep in mind also that the company that makes it has no website, no profile with any business entity, and has no information about it or its history of customer satisfaction. That alone makes us suspicious, but then you also have the fact that the product itself contains potentially dangerous chemicals.

We're not sure how this product is being sold, since it contains illegal chemicals, but the FDA might be serving them with a notice soon.

Stay healthy and stay away from Fastin.

Fastin vs Fastin XR

These seem to be variations of the same product. Both claim to melt off excess fat, but Fastin XR just claims to do it faster and better. Fastin XR contains many of the ingredients of regular Fastin, but with the addition of other ingredients like naringen fruit and senegalia and green tea. Despite working “better,” Fastin XR appears to be cheaper than normal fasting – $39.95, compared to $69.95. Both are hard to find, but can be purchased at some specialty websites.

Fastin vs Adipex

These are very different products. Fastin is a “nutritional supplement” that can be bought over the counter, while Adipex is a pharmaceutical drug. Both contain stimulants that suppress the appetite and are intended to be used together with diet and exercise for losing body fat. Both come with significant side effects like irregular heartbeat, anxiety, and heart failure, because of the ingredients contained in both of them.

Fastin vs Adderall

These are also quite different. Fastin is a diet pill that's supposed to reduce the appetite, while Adderall is a drug that contains a stimulant that's supposed to treat ADHD. Both contain chemicals that act like phenylamines. Fastin can be purchased from the internet without a prescription, while Adderall must be bought from a pharmacist with a prescription from a doctor. Adderall costs from $100 to $300, while Fastin costs around $69.95 for a one-month bottle.
