Contrary to what this product claims, it’s impossible to enlarge your penis by using pills. That didn’t stop them from making this erroneous claim, though, which is why you should beware of it. For more, read on:

Male Extra Overview
Male Extra is a sexual performance-enhancing supplement for men that’s supposed to improve erection quality and duration. The company that makes it, Vobue Ltd, claims that it’s also supposed to improve orgasm strength and the stamina needed to have satisfying sex with a partner for long periods of time.
When properly use, this supplement is supposed to improve men’s sex lives and give them more confidence in the bedroom.

Male Extra Claims
The primary claims about this product have to do with male erection strength, and the length of time a man can stay aroused while taking this supplement. The main action of this product is in stimulating blood flow to the genitalia, which is supposed to be accomplished by a number of natural ingredients that are in this formula. With more circulation in general, Male Extra promises that some of that blood will be directed to the penis, and by doing so it’ll prevent erectile dysfunction and get the penis up and going. Everything else follows from there.
It also contains a supposed aphrodisiac used in Chinese medicine that is claimed to be able to drive male sexual desire to a higher level. This, combined with the ingredients that are supposed to fill the penis with blood more fully and completely, is supposed to turn men into powerful sexual dynamos, able to take on all comers – pun intended.
One other part of the product’s website shows another claim, one that’s gotten other companies in trouble in the past: it claims that men said their penises grew in size after taking the product for a couple months, some by as much as two and a half inches! It provides no source for this claim, however, and according to an article over at Men’s Health (“Do Penis Enlargement Products EVER Work?”) there are no existing treatments that can make a man’s penis larger. And this was according to a urologist at the University of Washington Men’s Health Center!
Other companies have gotten in trouble for making claims about increasing penis size, most famously Enzyte (with the “Smiling Bob” commercials). That company got slammed by a federal court for a number of crimes, including fraudulent claims of penis enlargement, and had to forfeit $500 million. Their founder, Steve Warshak, got a 25-year prison sentence.

Here’s a list of the top male sexual supplements, based on quality and effectiveness.
Male Extra Ingredients
Male Extra has a pretty compact list of ingredients:
- L-Arginine HCL
- Ellagic Acid (Pomegranate)
- MSM (Methyl Sulfonyl Methane)
- L-Methionine
- Zinc
- Cordyceps
- Niacin
L-Arginine HCL is an amino acid that people usually get from food, but also comes in supplemental form. It converts to nitric oxide once it’s in the body, which causes blood vessels to open up and allow more blood to flow through.
Ellagic Acid is derived from pomegranates, and is supposed to be full of antioxidants (for maintaining cellular health) but also claims to be able to increase blood flow, like arginine.
On the other side of things, MSM is claimed by the company to be able to make the penis stronger by encouraging the production of new penis tissue. We’ve never read anything about this, and according to WebMD this ingredient is mostly used for treating osteoarthritis. They tried to take the “helps cellular production” idea to mean it can help the penis specifically, but there’s no proof that it can particularly help the penis.
Zinc is a common mineral, one that’s mainly associated with better immune function. Male Extra claims that this ingredient is associated with higher testosterone levels – but the study they linked to doesn’t exactly promote their theory. More on that in a bit.
They included an ingredient called cordyceps, a fungus found on some caterpillars, and is used in Asian herbal medicine for male sex enhancement. There’s little to suggest this, however, which we’ll cover in the next section.

The Science Behind Male Extra
Not all of these ingredients have strong cases for them, which reflects badly on this supplement.
First off, ellagic acid is known to be a potent antioxidant, but even though it’s been studied for preventing the deteriorating effects of oxidation on the cells, we didn’t see any evidence that it increases blood flow. The study the company linked to (Forest, Padma-Nathan, et al, 2024) even admitted that “statistical significance was not achieved,” although they concluded there’s a possibility that future tests could prove a connection between pomegranate juice and blood flow. Looks like the makes of Male Extra didn’t read the actual study.
Likewise, the claim that zinc increases testosterone isn’t even proven by the study Male Extra gives as a source. It claims instead that zinc “may play an important role in modulating serum testosterone levels in men” (Prasad, Mantzsoros, Beck, et al, 1996). That’s not a very strong conclusion, and it’s clear that Male Extra fibbed a bit on the results of this study to push this formula.

Cordyceps has a reputation for stimulating cells that are a part of the immune system, making it possibly useful for increasing immune resistance. But according to WebMD, there’s “insufficient evidence” that it helps with sexual dysfunction in men.

Word on the Street about Male Extra
We couldn’t find many places where Male Extra is sold, so it was hard finding customer reviews, but we were able to find some customer testimonials on Amazon . There are only 5 customer reviews, and most of them aren’t very good:
“I’ve used this for more than a week and haven’t seen any improvement. I’m disappointed. I don’t recommend this at all!”
“Two weeks of using these pills and nothing’s happening. Don’t use it.”
“This product worked just as the company claimed. It helped me feel firmer and more sexual, and I had more intense orgasms.”
“Worked nice! Shipped very quickly. Thanks!”
“It smells strange, and I’ve been using it for weeks to no effect. I hope it works eventually.”

Is Male Extra Worth a Try?
Unfortunately, there’s not a lot to make this product deserve a recommendation.

Not only do several of the ingredients in this product not do what they’re supposed to do, the scientific studies Male Extra provides as proof that they work actually prove the opposite – this tells us that the company wasn’t counting on people doing their own research and following up on this product’s claims. Not only that, but when you factor in the price ($64.95/bottle), the value of this supplement really goes down.
But the most important thing to note about any product is what customer think about it. We only found five reviews, and most of them said it didn’t work. That says it all. In the end, you need to please the customers, and if you can’t do that, you’re doing something wrong. Male Extra definitely isn’t worth the price.

Male Extra vs Vigrx Plus
Both of these products are fairly pricey, but while Male Extra costs $64.95 for a bottle, Vigrx Plus is more expensive at $76.99 for one bottle. Both bottles are a full month’s-worth, however. Vigrx plus puts more emphasis on the science of their product, and doesn’t make any claims about increasing penis size.
Male Extra vs Progentra
Both of these supplements claim to increase penis size as well as libido. They’re also roughly the same price, and have about the same number of reviews on Amazon – 5 and 6, respectively – and both have middling ratings. Progentra has a larger number of ingredients, with a bigger emphasis on herbal aphrodisiacs than Male Extra.
Male Extra vs Tekmale
These supplements are both pretty similar in the claims they make, except Tekmale doesn’t claim to make the penis bigger. Tekmale also contains more herbal extracts, and has a larger list of overall ingredients. They also provide fewer sources than Male Extra (despite the fact that Male Extra’s sources aren’t “proof,” per se).
Male Extra vs Prosolution
The main difference between these products is that Prosolution sells itself mainly as a supplement to prevent premature ejaculation, although it does additionall claim that it can increase erection hardness and boost stamina. Prosolution also offers a slightly longer refund period – 67 days, compared to Male Extra’s 60 days. The products are roughly the same price, so you won’t be saving money by choosing one over the other.
Male Extra vs Vimax
These supplements both promise similar things – increased stamina, low sex drive, weak erections – but Vimax contains more herbal ingredients. The total number of ingredients are about similar, though. They also market themselves more differently, Vimax focusing more on simple statements, and Male Extra tries to his you over the head with claims about its effectiveness. Vimax also offers a free trial bottle, which Male Extra doesn’t, but you have to sign up for an auto-shipping plan – and each bottle is more expensive than usual!
Male Extra vs Xtrasize
Xtrasize mainly claims it can increase the size of your penis, while Male Extra downplays this claim a little more. Both claim to increase stamina and sexual appetite, however. Xtrasize offers more than Male Extra – its starter package lasts two months, to Male Extra’s one month. Xtrasize doesn’t seem to be available for purchase from other vendors, just from its main site, while Male Extra is also available from Amazon.
Male Extra vs Rexavar
Right off the bat, we noted that Rexavar is cheaper — $39.99 for a one month supply, compared to Male Extra’s $64.95. They make the additional claim that their product is used by people in the adult film industry, which Male Extra doesn’t (Rexavar’s claim is unsubstantiated). Rexavar contains slightly fewer ingredients, but there are more herbal aphrodisiacs in this mix.
Male Extra vs Maxosize
Male Extra and Maxosize are similar in that they’re both based on natural ingredients, but Maxosize contains some very different ingredients, including “Shirish,” which is supposed to “purify” the blood. Maxosize also has a 180 money-back guarantee, which outdoes Male Extra’s. They are similarly priced, at $64.95 and $69 respectively, and both contain 60 capsules.
