Is Shaklee 180 Worth a Try?
It’s hard to say. Shaklee 180 has a lot going for it. The formula is suitable for a range of dietary restrictions, and that’s a big plus. But, we’re not sure that the claims are 100% accurate.
Much of Shaklee’s sales pitch relies on the fact that it’s not like other diet programs or meal replacement shakes. While this does contain leucine, an amino acid known for its muscle retention properties, we didn’t see many reviews backing the product’s ability to help users lose fat without losing muscle.
The main shake in the program is a vegan, soy-based shake, which is somewhat divisive. While soy has long been used by people in Asia as a source of protein, some people do have soy sensitivities or concerns about the phytoestrogens present in the plant. Soy should be safe for most people, but there still may be some concerns in replacing all of your meals with a soy-protein shake. Dieters should be eating a more varied diet—not an all liquid diet centered around a drink powder.
