This company doesn’t have a great track record. What’s worse, some of the ingredients have no proof that they work, and at least one of them could even be dangerous to your health.

Steel Libido Overview
Steel Libido is a male sex drive enhancement product. It claims to use natural ingredients to promote the natural processes that increase desire for sex, as well as blood flow for better performance and more enjoyment during the act of love. It can be used as a daily supplement, or for immediate short-term effects just before engaging in sexual activity.
Despite the packaging and advertising for this supplement being “natural” and healthy, there are several problems with this product that might make anyone think twice about using it.

Steel Libido Claims
The company that makes this product, Irwin Naturals, claims that this supplement can make you more virile, more lusty, and more active during sex. For lots of men that might sound amazing, as some men just don’t have the same spunk that they used to and would like to get back in the saddle. Some of the ingredients in this product are herbal aphrodisiacs, and some are thought to either target testosterone production and boost it (which can increase the sex drive), and others are believed to stimulate the sexual centers of the brain. Others direct blood flow to the genitalia, just in case men find it hard to get a solid erection.
No drugs, no complicated-sounding medical words, just natural plant products – sounds great, right? Well, it’s not as wasy as that, but we’ll get more into the ingredients in the next section.
For now, let’s focus on the company itself, Irwin Naturals, a brand of Applied Nutrition. This is a supplement company that sells many different products for everything from detoxes to flushes, diets to skin care. They have a huge operation that operates nationally.
The bad part is that they don’t really look like a great company. They were the focus of some serious controversy some years ago in an expensive lawsuit. What happened? A regulatory agency found lead in their products, 10 times more lead than what’s legally allowed. Yikes. They were then sued for misleading advertising and unfair business practices since they failed to disclose this, and they lost. They were fined $2.5 million.
Not only that, but they have lots of bad complaints from customers on RipoffReport, where people can write about companies and individuals who they feel – you guess it – ripped them off somehow. Apparently Irwin Naturals has a shady auto-ship policy that many people feel wasn’t explained clearly, and some people have even been charged for things they never ordered.
This doesn’t sound like the kind of company we’d buy from, that’s for sure.
Here’s a list of the 10 best male sexual supplements, based on quality and strength.
Steel Libido Ingredients
The list of ingredients for Steel Libido contains some pretty common herbs and plant extracts that we’ve seen in other products. Here’s a partial list:
- L-Arginine
- Maca
- Ashwagandha
- Yohimbe
- Dimethylglycine
- BioPerine
L-Arginine is a common-enough ingredient in sex supplements. It’s just a natural amino acid that can help improve circulation, in case that’s part of the problem when it comes to arousal. Some people have trouble getting enough blood to the erectile tissue, and that’s where arginine comes in: the body converts it to nitric oxide, which widens the blood vessels, letting more blood flow through.
Maca is a plant from the Andes that is supposed to affect hormone levels. Since testosterone is a hormone, and one that has a lot to do with the sex drive, maca’s not a bad choice for an ingredient, and it’s found in many different men’s sex products.
Ashwagandha is an herb used in traditional Indian herbal medicine, known as Ayurveda. It’s supposed to improve the sex drive in both men and women, among other supposed benefits. The problem? It doesn’t have much evidence that it works. More on that in a bit.
We’ve seen yohimbe, a traditional African ingredient, put into sexual health supplements before because of its supposed sex drive-enhancing chemicals. But not only is there no evidence that it works, it could actually hurt you.
Dimethylglycine is an amino acid that’s used to treat fatigue and improve stamina, so it’s likely used here as a way to help people go longer in bed. Looking for proof that it works? You’ll be disappointed.
BioPerine is a patented extract from black pepper, supposed to increase the “bioavailability” of ingredients in supplements so that the body can absorb them more completely.

The Science Behind Steel Libido
This is where things start to fall apart for Steel Libido.
Ashwagandha is a very popular product, but a lot of the claims made about it have almost no evidence to support them: there’s “insufficient evidence” that this product works to help with anything, except for possibly helping with arthritis, but then, only in specific extracts (WebMD). There is one study we came across that says it could help women with their sex drives, but it doesn’t reach a strong conclusion (Swati, et al, 2024).
We still can’t figure out why people put yohimbe in their products. It’s constantly sold as an effective and powerful aphrodisiac, but “more evidence is needed” before anyone can tell if it works or how (WebMD). That’s not the worst part though: it causes serious side effects. How serious? Kidney failure, seizures, or even heart failure! Whatever you do, avoid products that contain this ingredient.
Dimethylglycine is another ingredient that disappoints us: there’s no clinical evidence showing that it works (WedMD).

Word on the Street about Steel Libido
There aren’t many reviews of Steel Libido that we could find. We looked and some of the few reviews we found were on GNC, where it’s gotten a mixed reception:
“This helped with my sexual energy, but for erectile dysfunction it’s not working enough – for that, I have my doctor.”
“This doesn’t work. In fact, it just makes me irritable and unfocused. Don’t waste your hard-earned money!”
“Good.”
“This doesn’t work as well as advertised.”
“This works very well for me. I’m pleased!”
Mixed reviews are always hard to base a judgment on, but that’s when you have to look at the quality of the reviews as well. Some of the positive reviews for this product are very very short – “good!” or “I like it!” – and so if you’re looking for proof that something works, such short reviews might not be enough. Deeper, more in-depth reviews show that the person really used it and has lots to say about it, so we’d make sure to look at those first.

Is Steel Libido Worth a Try?
When buying a product, you have to look at all sides fo a product: the company making it, the reviews customers have for it, the ingredients, the claims. But when it comes to all of these factors, we’ve found Steel Libido lacking. Not only is the company that makes it less than trustworthy, many of the ingredients in it have very little evidence that they work, and some (like yohimbe) even come with catastrophic and potentially-deadly side effects! The customer response has been very weak: there haven’t been many of them at all, and the few there are aren’t all glowing.
For these reasons, we would advise people to spend their money elsewhere.

Steel Libido vs Steel Libido Red
At first glance, it doesn’t look like there’s much different between these products. Same company, almost the same title. But Steel Libido Red contains more ingredients that focus on bloow flow than regular Steel Libido. Steel Libido also contains different ingredients, like yohimbe and dimethylglycine, which Steel Libido Red doesn’t. The products are both the same price, however: $29.99 for an 18 day supply. What doesn’t make sense to us though is why Steel Libido Red doesn’t contain l-arginine (like Steel Libido does) despite being more focused on blood flow. It also has worse reviews than Steel Libido in general, from what we’ve seen.
Steel Libido vs Steel Libido Pink
Again, two very similar products, with very few differences between them. Steel Libido Pink is the woman-focused version of Steel Libido, but despite being intended for the opposite sex, the products share many ingredients in common, from maca to epimedium to bioperine. They both last for 18 days per bottle (at four pills a day). There is a slight difference in price, with Steel Libido costing $29.99 and Pink costing $22.50. If you’re a man, you probably won’t be having to decide between these two, so the differences won’t make much of a big deal.
Steel Libido vs Viagra
People always want to compare nutritional sex supplements to Viagra, but there really is no comparing the two. For one, Viagra is prescription-only and supplements can be bought without a prescription, which has an effect not only on how “guaranteed” effects can be, but also on how expensive they both are: Steel Libido is $29.99 for a bottle of 18 pills, while Viagra costs up to $40 for just ONE pill. Viagra also comes with serious side effects, such as irregular heartbeat, nausea, deafness, and temporary loss of sight – serious conditions. Steel Libido also has the advantage of being plant-based, so even if it doesn’t work, at least it doesn’t contain chemicals like Viagra does.
Steel Libido vs Yohimbe Plus
These products both contain yohimbe, epimedium, ashwagandha, and BioPerine, making them very similar ingredients-wise. They’re also made by the same company, Irwin Naturals, so whatever criticisms we’ve leveled at Steel Libido’s company counts also for Yohimbe Plus. One of the main differences we saw is that Yohimbe Plus contains soy products, which Steel Libido doesn’t, so if you have allergies, that might be the deciding factor. They are both the same price: $29.99 for an 18-day supply.
Steel Libido vs Arginmax
These products both promise to improve the sex drive, but there are some subtle differences between them. Arginmax claims to work for both men and women, and while Steel Libido only claims to be intended for men, it has a women’s formula as well. Arginmax seems to be based less on increasing the sex drive through aphrodisiacs or testosterone boosting, and instead looks like it’s based more on the actions of arginine – which, as we stated above, enhances circulation. Unlike Steel Libido, Arginmax claims to be vetted by clinical trials, but when you look at their website, it only lists a trial that said the women’s formula “improves quality of life for cancer survivors” – not that it makes men and women hornier.
