Psychologist, Winston says, “OCD can happen subtly, like in the case of somebody who can’t get out of the house for three hours because their makeup has to be absolutely just right and they have to keep starting over.”
13. Compulsive Behaviors
If a person’s intrusive thoughts and obsessiveness accompany with compulsive behavior, this person can be diagnosed with OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder). Compulsive behavior can be manifested in the mental aspect (telling yourself it will be all right over and over again) or physical aspect (such as hand-washing, and straightening items).
Compulsive behavior an obsessive thinking will become a full-blown disorder when you have the need to complete the behaviors that are also known as “rituals” and begin to drive your life. Psychologists say, “If you like your radio at volume level 3, for example, and it breaks and gets stuck on 4, would you be in a total panic until you could get it fixed?”

Second-guessing and persistent self-doubt are common features of anxiety disorders such as obsessive-compulsive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. In some cases, the doubt can revolve around a question, which is central to the identity of a person, like “Do I love my husband as much as he loves me?” or “What if I’m gay?”
Winston, a psychologist, says that doubt attacks are especially common when a question is not answerable. People with obsessive-compulsive disorder think, “If only I would know 100% for sure whether I was gay or straight, either one would be fine,” “but they have this intolerance for uncertainty that turns the question into an obsession,” says Winston.
